The Parish of Caerau with Ely is in the Diocese of Llandaff, part of the Church in Wales. The Parish has a population of just over 13,000 people which is served by two churches; St. David’s (the Parish Church) and St. Timothy’s. The Parish serves the wards of Caerau and Ely, in our opinion, one of the best areas in Wales.
Our resident Parish Priest is Father Jesse Smith. Fr Jesse along with his family moved back to Wales to be with us in 2009. Our resident curate is Father Christopher Lee.
St. David’s and St. Timothy’s are members of Cytûn; Churches Together in Ely. Cytûn is a Welsh word meaning “agreement”. It’s aim is to unite in pilgrimage those churches in Wales which, acknowledging God’s revelation in Christ, confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the Scriptures; and, in obedience to God’s will and in the power of the Holy Spirit, commit themselves to seek a deepening of their communion with Christ and with one another in the Church, which is his body, and to fulfil their mission to proclaim the Gospel by common witness and service in the world, to the glory of the one God Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
