Ministries
As a parish we are committed to making God’s love known to everyone. We recognise that mission is about more than just preaching in church: it is about being alongside people, encouraging them to see God’s love in action in the world, and in their community.
At St. David’s and St. Timothy’s there is:
- Eat and Meet Community Café
- Ely Community Novelty Bingo
- Flying Start Parents and Toddlers Group
- Pathwayz Children’s Club
- Roots Youth Group
- Monday Night Singing Group
- Quarterly Quiz Night
Within the Parish community members of the congregation are actively involved in local groups, bringing a Christian influence to bear. Some of our congregation represent the church at:
- the Ely & Caerau Community Forum
- the Community First Partnership Board
- the Ely Festival Committee
- CYTÛN (Churches together in Ely)
Our involvement with local schools means that we have a regular contact with young people, and the schools invite the clergy to take assembly, to take part in lessons (as part of the National Curriculum) and they often visit the church in the course of a year as an element of their studies.
The mission to take Good News to the people is not just about being the Church in this parish, but recognising that we are part of the Church in the Diocese, in the Province and in the world.
We support the Delhi Brotherhood in India through USPG, are committed to helping Christian Aid in it’s world-wide relief work, and encourage active participation in local events and campaigns.
